The Social networking website Facebook is all set to hit the records of its active users in Japan. Further, Facebook overtook Japanese social networking site Mixi with 15 Million active users only in Japan.
Facebook chief operating offer ‘Sheryl Sandberg’ said to Japan’s Business daily The Nikkei that
“Japan is a really important market for us,”
Further added-
“We have over 15 million users… Only six months ago, we were at 10 million users.”
Six months ago (March 2012), Facebook has only 10 Million active users in Japan while today’s report says that the social networking giant reached 15 Million active users in only 6 months.
In September 2011, Facebook has only 5 million users in Japan. If we compared them, then it is 200 percent increase in users which is unbelievable.
Few days back, FB got another achievement in web traffic ranking and got #1 World Ranking in Alexa.

In June 2012, Mixi has announced 14.53 million monthly active users (MAU) dropped from 15.2 million MAU in Feb 2012. This is the first time when Facebook overtook Japanese social network Mixi’s monthly active users.
